New Truck and 5th Wheel
Just upgraded to a new truck and 5th wheel. The truck is a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 ST Dually 6.7L diesel. The 5th wheel is a 2011 Keystone Avalanche 290 RL - 34' with 3 slides. We bought both at the end of the model year so we got pretty good deals. The truck is an incredible tow vehicle. It's a big truck and I'm still getting used to driving it. The length doesn't bother me, it's the rear fenders I worry about clipping. The 5th is a big upgrade from our previous 29' 5th. That extra 5' makes a huge difference. It has a second AC, ceiling fan, and fireplace/heater - these are great features because we live in Florida. No problems with the truck or 5th yet. The only thing I don't like is that the hydraulic slides on the 5th are a little noisey.

Just remember the widest part of any truck is the mirrors. The fenders can be a worry but as long as the mirrors fit the truck will also fit.

Nice taste in trucks (see signature)!! We've had ours since 9/11/11 and it's never been back to the dealer for anything other than routine service. As far as clipping the rear fenders, the old rule of thumb for driving duallies is, if the mirrors will clear, the hips (rear fenders) will clear.
Congratulations and enjoy!

Nice set up. I like the fact that the trailer has a second AC unit.
Best of luck and enjoyment.

Love the white on white! Especially here in FL. You are lucky to be able to afford both new toys at the same time! Enjoy!

Belated congrats. Just remember if you find yourself with vehicles parked on both sides of you, pull straight out a ways before starting to turn. The rule of the mirrors clearing so will the fenders, don't apply in this situation. Plus I always try to park where I can pull out, hate trying to back out from a spot in a busy parking lot. Can't see what's directly behind you and I've had people walk right behind me as I was backing out, lucky I didn't run over them.

Except when backing. When I'm solo I always park the big dually out and away from the front door of the Mall or store to keep anyone from smacking their door into it, saves on dents and my Blood Pressure. Nice lookng setup, you will like the Ram as this is my 3rd one. Sold my 03 and bought the 07 with 18K miles on it, looked showroom new. They are pulling fools!

That's a really good setup!
That dually will make towing so much more comfortable with that coach!
Hope you enjoy it for a long time!

I have had mine since 2/05 and 91,000 miles and it has not had one repair; just normal and routine maintenance. They are good trucks!
