Where there is a will there is a way. Try this on your Jeep.

Congrats phoneman16 &

We really liked our Cougar when we had it. They're good units for the price. We pulled ours with a 3/4t HD Chevy.

Nice looking rig. One suggestion, be sure you get 'enough' truck. Many like to say that their rig "pulls fine." Pulling is not the issue...carrying the heavy pin weight is the issue...that's what you need to check.

You can find the max cargo capacity by looking at the Tire and Loading Information sticker on the left side of the door frame. It will give you the max cargo for THAT truck to the nearest one pound.

Good luck.

Would get a 250/2500. Gas or diesel is your choice.

Goodness, Bill, I just checked your profile. I see you're from Norwalk...I'm originally from Shelby. Hello there neighbor!

From the Cougar website, you've got close to a 12,000 lb GVWR & a 1545 lb pin wt. If I were you I'd look for a gently used F250/350 (or similar in Chevy/Dodge) diesel to go with your new 5-r.

I believe in overkill when it comes to towing. It lowers stress levels. I'd prefer the stability of a dually and the pulling power of a diesel.

Enjoy!!

I would go with the 1 ton single rear wheel, big block gas, or diesel, and a 4:10 rear axle.

Is that the 327RES? We bought one back in January and have camped in it twice now one 4 day trip and one night trip on the way back from picking it up. We love this unit, we have two young kids and traded in a bunkhouse for it because of the large living room, the two boys don't need the separate rooms anyway. We really enjoy the unit but wish it came with slide toppers!!

We had them on our previous 5th wheel. Be thankful you DON'T have 'em.

The 2500 series diesel Chevy's for 10' and 11' are very different. The towing caps. have been greatly increased for the 11's. I priced out a rather base 11' 2500 diesel and it was pushing $50k+.
