A BIG

And besides the http://www.irv2.com/forums/f120/i-lo...aw-102560.html thread in Scott's (Focker) post, there is the OUTLAW Mods and Easy Fixes thread.

Looking at your photos...is there NO LOFT over the garage...? Do you remove the helo's tail boom or just feed it into the interior through the garage door?

And, what is the box/cabinet on the forward driver's side of the garage...the fabled optional half bath?

These items are not Outlaw 3808 standard fare...very interesting. Hope to read all about your new2U Outlaw

Safe travels

Very unique way to use the garage! Where in AZ are you? There are several Outlaw owners on here from AZ! I'd love to check out the helo sometime. I'm a fixed-wing guy, but love rotors too

Hi Tim,

I am in North Phx...The helicopter lives in a hangar at Deer Valley Airport. Just let me know...Its a short hop or drive from Sedona!

Steve: You are obsrvant! I had pretty much given up on any type of toyhauler like an outlaw because of the loft. As luck would have it, I found this one owned by a medical prosthesis outfit that had it remodeled to make the garage into a mobile classroom and travelled to their customers. They added a third A/C unit and an 8KW Onan among other things. AND it was a FRED! The garage ceiling is 9' 1" now. My rotor mast is 8' 1" !!!

It looks like a box/bath on the driver's side because the stairs were also removed and a new wall installed creating a landing where they had a sink. I took that out and installed the washer/dryer combo. The space there is roughly 2'X2", and could have also been used to make a "half bath".

I took out the original garage door which they had reused and installed a wider taller standard door to make it easier to jockey the tailboom down the hall while winching it into the garage.

I just completed building a fold up queen bed which does a quick mount/disconnect from the driver side wall...currently working on a blade rack for the passenger side wall. Thanks to the stair removal and extra landing space, the blades will fit by an inch or so!

Mike

Outlaw 3808 with Murphy Bed

The 3612 (upgraded 3611) had a Murphy Bed. It was not an option in the 3808 that I am aware of, but this owner added a homemade bed to their 3808. In these photos, you can see how the original garage bulkhead was...

Just another idea for your bunk set-up.

Best luck

Hi Steve,

You are correct on the new floor plan, and the orig bath/shower was never altered.

The Murphy bed depicted is much too large for my needs to be able to put helicopter or Samurai inside the garage. Yesterday, I finished my home made fold down bed, which is attached to the lower E-track on the driver's wall. The bed is oriented so the head end is aft to facillitate watching a soon to be 42" TV that will replace the anemic 15" that came with the coach. More importantly, it only consumes 11" of space while folded, and my extra ramps for the helicopter fit out of the way underneath.

Thanks,

Mike

Looks Great, Mike.

The laundry install is awesome - you know that would have been a MAJOR mod to run plumping to that part of the RV. Is the drain plumbed to the waste tank or direct drop to a dump valve?

The murphy bed idea is well done. You could even add cabinets to the top and side if desired. Is the bed frame a custom or did you buy is complete...there has been interest here for adding a real bed to the Outlaw garage because the typical Toy Hauler bench-bunks leave a bit to be desired and since Thor dropped the overhead electric drop-down bed-bench system.

It's amazing how OEM it looks despite all the major mods...Congrats again on the new2u Outlaw

I REALLY like this one. How i wish they would install a tag axle so one could put a JEEP inside.
Looks like they are getting closer to that with yours.
