Our First Motor Home
My wife and I picked up our first RV today. Sadly we're not going to be able to use it for the next 6 months. One of the pleasures of living in the North East. Looking forward to spending plenty of time reading the threads and learning. Stupid cell phone cut off the nose.

Not sure why the img string is showing there. First order of business is to replace the awful metal mini-blinds with some nice MCD duo shades. Those will be ordered on Monday, so we'll have the winter to get them installed.
The upholstery in it isn't bad, but it's not really our style. We're going to have to figure out what we want to do - not sure if it'll be easier to reupholster the couch & jacknife or replace them - we've never done upholstery. I'm also going to pull the valances and find something to re-cover them.
And it needs a new mattress. I just have to decide if I want to buy a new sleep number, or rescue one off Craigslist.

Nice Pursuit!!! My advice for the interior (from a person who has sold motorhomes) is to try to get it professionally reupholstered if you can, especially the couch. It costs around $100-250+ to get something recovered, not including fabric. It's a fair bit, but you'll still have the original future designed for the coach. When it comes time to sell, often nothing looks more out of place then residential furnishings in a motorhome. People will spot things that aren't original to the coach (like a big recliner), because residential furniture is usually much bigger/bulkier. They won't likely notice a pro-recover job though.
Alternatively, if you have a new RV dealer in your area, you can tour their new models, and if you see a couch or chair you like, have them order you in one. Jack-knife Sofa bed can be had for as little as $150.

You know that it has wheels for a reason....point the nose SOUTH and find warmer weather.

Nice!, Enjoy some fall camping, it's some of the best you can do. Enjoy the remodeling, it's always fun to do. Before and after pictures are good to look back on.

Thanks for the advice. We are looking for someone to give us a quote on recovering them.

I'm still tied to the day job and they won't let me work from a Florida RV park. We are heading down to Key West on Saturday for a week so that'll have to hold us over.
