The journey started back in July. Hubby and I were seriously considering a second home in Florida, when it occurred to us and that for years we had talked about RV-ing cross country. Why limit ourselves to one location? (We even still had a 20-year old file folder labeled "RV" in the file cabinet!) Upstate NY winters can be brutal, and the kids are scattered so we started researching.

We joined the forums and had some full-timing friends answering some questions for us. We had a price point (under $100K) and some "must haves" and started looking. The Hershey RV show came up and we looked at RVs...LOTS of RVs. We decided on a MH rather than a 5th wheel and a gasser vs. DP. The search was on!!

We really liked the 33C and started searching RV Trader. Each time we saw one, we seemed to be late to the party, and it would be sold. We were hoping to wait until January to buy, but then...we saw one in Mesa AZ. We called about it, it was still avail. We put $1,000 down and hubby flew out to look at it. His words, "it's pristine."

He came home and in one month we had insurance, an extended service plan, roadside assistance, cats were vet-checked, Honda got new tires, home security system installed, a whole house generator installed, packed everything up and drove to Arizona to pick up our "winter home."

We are living the dream!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Clearly we are excited about our purchase!

So far (2 weeks today) things are going well, but we are still trying to figure
out how to best use the space.

To those who notice: yes, the machine is a little 1949 Singer featherweight. I can fit her, a portable ironing board, an iron and my basic sewing supplies in a 22" X 11" high cabinet. That made me very happy!

Nice coach and it would appear Ms or Mr Kitty is quite pleased with the space too. I have seen a redo of a coach to have the litter box down in one of the basement bays and it could be cleaned and emptied from the outside.

A hole was cut through the floor, a ramp put in for the cats to go down there and a gate door added within the framework of the basement door so the outside door could be left open and the cats could go down and look out and get fresh air whenever they wanted.

Also worked great to lock the cats in there when loading the coach and wanting to not have an escape. People liked sitting outside in chairs and the cats being inside cat bay and being basically with them.

So now that they guessed the make/model of the sewing machine, I'm now curious as to what are you sewing? Something for the RV?

We picked up a new Itasca Sunstar 36y in November. One of the requirements was place for my sewing machine. We have only been on three weekend trips and are waiting for CW to fix all it's warranty work items. Hope to pick it up next week and start our adventure.
