Our first motorhome!

Hubby and I just took delivery of a 2007 Newmar Bay Star 3202, our first motorhome. We will be full-timing and are very excited but will have plenty of questions, I'm sure. We've been talking about and researching RVs for years but never could quite pull the trigger. Now we have.

We have been nomadic travelers for the past few years but always stayed in VRBO condos/homes and hotels, driving our Honda CR-V. This will be a change, but one we're excited about!

Here she is:

Looks nice condition, and you can tow your CR-V four down if you want since that is a model that is a popular toad and can be towed four down. Have fun on the road with your new MH.

Nice looking unit. Enjoy.
Now, sit down together and go through every book and manual and everything else that came with the MH. Get it into an orderly fashion so you can find a manual when and if you need it. This will answer many questions you might think of before you even have to ask. Otherwise everyone on this forum is here for you.

Thanks Lynn! Yes, going through all the manuals is definitely something we plan to do this week and next. We are in Central Florida and will be here for the next month or two, since we don't like cold weather one bit.

Thanks! Unfortunately, we no longer own the CR-V. We sold it before we headed to Mexico, where we spent most of the past year. We thought we might stay even longer so really had no reason to hold onto the car. So we are toad-less at the moment, but that's fine for now, since we have our bicycles, and good legs for walking! I expect we'll want a toad eventually, but for now, we thought we'd like to get used to driving the motorhome without having to worry about towing right from day 1.

Yes! I think maybe we delayed for a good reason...gas prices! When we drove our CR-V all over the US, we were paying over $3 a gallon most places.

Congrats. Hope you enjoy RVing as much as we have our first year.

As for towing, when we picked up our first RV / MH in March, we pulled out of our dealership with our Jeep attached and that was that, and we pulled it for about 8,000 miles this past year.

I can't imagine traveling without a toad. While it does take time to get used to driving the MH (the mirror to mirror clearance with big trucks on 2 lane roads still gets to me) other than being cognizant of gas station set ups, I don't think having the toad makes any real difference.

So, once you think you need one, go ahead and just go with it.

Regards
