Trademarks apply only to the specific category for which you apply. That is one reason they are pricey. Each category you want to protect requires its own trademark application and associated fee. So if Bentley never applied to trademark the name for RVs in the US, they have no basis for complaint.

Congratulations to you folks. I have been curious about the Bentley coach since it's inception. Nexus has a unique business model selling factory direct.

Please do show us some interior pics and share if you will the options you were able to obtain. I am also very interested about your post shake down and how things held up. Most of us have a considerable punch out list no matter the manufacturer.

You have a beautiful rig there, enjoy and safe travels!

Regards,
W.D.

Stage Two - Big Blue

We had a great trip from Indiana to Sacramento CA and up to Tacoma WA (home area). Both Mike and I shared the driving. The first couple of days we did keep to 200 miles, but then I had to slip in a couple 6 hour days because there just weren't desirable stopping locations or we where trying to get somewhere by a particular day. We had a couple of very windy days and thankfully those were shorter drives. We also traded drivers more frequently. The re-positioning trip had us moving just about every day, which did get old. We stayed 4 nights in Sacramento (Cal Expo fair grounds - gravel lot) and two nights at Bullard's Beach near Bandon Oregon. The first was good because it was close to the family, the second was nice because it was not near anyone and a great campground

We only have a couple of issues with the MH. The black tank washout connection began leaking, this is easy to manage, just run water in the toilet. Then we have the mystery "Blinking dash lights". We were driving in the mountains and it was a bit shady, so I wanted to turn on the lights (driving lights already on) so I could see the dash gauges better. Surprise! the lights all started blinking. Turn off the lights, no issue, turn them back on - blinking. We stopped at a roadside rest - checked that the driving lights were working correctly and then continued. Another day, there were no issues when the lights were turned on. A couple of days - no issues, then when driving in Oregon it was back to blinking. Fortunately we are not usually driving in the dark. We also tried to rip the back arm of the awning off the rig with an automatic gate at a friend's house. The arm is back in place and works with some manual encouragement.

Challenge now is to get approval to have the MC serviced by one of the two local RV shops that have been recommended to us. We have contacted NeXus, but haven't heard back yet. Fortunately none of these issues impact our ability to enjoy our new home.

We are living in Big Blue now while getting our sticks and bricks house ready to sell. The RV park here in Graham Washington is an interesting mix of long term, transient, and returning seasonal residents. We have a nice spot for two months.

Yes, the black sides may make the rig hot. Fortunately the roof is white.

I will send interior shots soon, today it has that 'lived in' look. . .LOL.

All in all I would say that Big Blue made it through the shake down in very good shape.

Cathi

Mike and Cathi,
If those are the only issues you have (God willing) you have won the lottery in RV terms! Wow. That is fantastic. It indeed appears they have built a rock solid rig. I had a hunch they did, I'm impressed.

Can't wait for the interior pics, how much did they let you customize? Congrats again on a great coach. If Nexus can keep this up, there's no doubt they would own #1 in quality control industry wide.

Watching your thread with interest, safe travels!

Regards,
W.D.

Awesome, congrats on the new rig guys! We toured the Nexus plant last October. Class operation, I like their unrushed production model, seems like a lot more opportunity to correct issues before delivery. Looking forward to future updates!

I have one

Hi Mike and Cathi,

My heart started to race when finally someone is posting about their new Bently. I will take the time a bit later to answer the questions you have posed.....right now I just wanted to congratulate and tell you that in this this forum you will find my drive home blogs to California in early October 2015, same color scheme by the way named after our mother Julia. We stopped at the place of my birth in Kansas as well. Feel free to message me anytime and again congratulations, safe travels....get back to you soon.

WDK

.....glad you made it safely....I had a minor mishap our way home....still teaching my wife to drive it so I am always at the wheel right now....I have been a class driving instructor as a part of my duties where I work for the past 27 years. I managed to scratch my awning topper on a tree which has since been replaced even though the damage was negligible. Getting approval for a shop is easy.....however I did my own home work, found a place that services top end Allegra's near by and went there....talked to the service manager....we then called Steve Tobias at NeXus and he approved all work then and future over the phone. The only thing that really sucks about it is if I have a warranty issue like perhaps one of the gas pistons goes bad or a door latch for your roller doors.....Steve will send all parts to the service center for those guys to install and there they leave them boxed up giving me a choice to install them myself or they will. It seems who ever connects the black tank hose to the black tank sprinkler is dropping the ball.....mine was not hooked at all and when I first used it, water just sprayed in the water bay....that took 10 minutes to resolve. Your blinking dash lights....I have not had that issue....I do loved the LED pantern of lights on the front end however....very nice!!

Enjoy the ride....we full time as well and right now are located at a place called the Golden Village Palms in Hemet, California.....very night here .....we start to roll in December when I retire.

....if you have the time....after you take delivery....you can live on premises.....they suggest when they go home at night, that you comb through it, drive it around, use it throughly and if you have issues, want more shelves installed etc they will take it in to service that next morning for us.....we were there 5 days and got plenty done to our liking.

WDK, very nice rig! Congrats to you as well. How far do they let you go regarding custom special items or interior arrangement?
I've been following Nexus since their entry into class A market. It looks like they're off to a great start.

Best wishes,
W.D.
