Our new to us Chalet Takena

This is proof that if you hold out for what you want you can find it.... We had truck campers in the early 90's and both of them had stoves with ovens. One had a porta potty, the other a wet bath that we only used the toilet. one had a water heater, neither had a/c or working furnace or microwave. they both had fridges. Fast forward to 2014, after 10 years of boat ownership, we sold the boat and decided to get a travel trailer. First problem, We have a F150 without a factory trailer towing package so we are limited to 5000 lbs. We quickly find that there aren't many trailers under 5000, we get responses from, sell your truck and get a bigger truck to "oh, you can tow 7500 lbs with that truck", next problem very few 18 foot trailers have ovens, so we surfed and looked and asked on forums and found the Chalet Takena, next problem, the factory roof collapsed due to snow load and they stopped production. Finally we found a used 2014, Under 5000 lbs, with an oven. It doesn't have a slideout, and unless you convert the dinette it only sleeps two, but we're emptynesters, and it has a queen bed, 6 cubic foot fridge/freezer, a/c, drybath. etc and at 10'3" to top of a/c it fits under our 10'6" carport so its under cover, plugged into shore power in the driveway.

Nice camper! I think it is wonderful that you found exactly what you wanted and didn't rush to buy something. That layout looks great and very livable. Enjoy! Many happy trips!
