This is our new 2007 Travel Supreme Alante. We are excited even though we know we have very little warranty. We have always had 5ers, our last being a 43ft. Travel Supreme but thought we wanted to move to a motorhome. Found this BARGAIN on the Internet and feel fortunate to get it. Gene and Ann

Yep, a 43ft. Travel Supreme 5er with opposing 20 ft. slides plus a bedroom slide all pulled by a Peterbilt 387 Condo sleeper truck converted with a hauler bed and air ride 5th wheel hitch. Just decided it was time to change directions and try a motorhome. Gene

You're gonna like the setup time w/the coach. Good luck on self warranty (I feel for ya there, with Alpine's mfgr down the tubes @ 8 months into a 3 year warranty). If you got a great deal, and are pretty handy, you should be ecstatic w/the new rollerhome.

Congrats!!! TS was started by former Newmar folks and they used to be basically next door neighbors before TS went under. You might be interested to know that Newmar has recently extended their Nappanee, IN factory service program (I did NOT say warranty) to other brands who have gone out of business. I can not say enough about the talent in Nappannee and the fact there is Newmar heritage in TS might be a further plus for you should you need top-flight service in the future.

Click for a thread on this topic as well.

Rick, pics of Peterbilt here http://community.webshots.com/user/gben101 Truck has a C12 Cat at 435 hp and 1450 lb. ft of torque, 10 speed eaton autoshift and 5.33 gears as I recall. We singled it out and added a hauler bed. Bunk is pretty much standard with addition of an inverter, microwave, porta-potty, fridge and a combination television,-dvd-vcr. Bunk in Peterbilt is oversize (longer and wider than twin). Sleeper also has 2 built in closets. We added a rear camera backup system, new seats, etc. Nice ride, we REALLY enjoyed our time and travels with it. It is low mileage and had a brand new CAT engine with 3yr, 300k CAT advantage warranty when we got it with 496k miles on the clock. Go over and you will find before, after and process pictures of taking it from a road truck to an RV hauler.

RVDUDE, thanks, yep we have been to the factory (took our 5er back to be updated in 07 and know the family history with Newmar. Glad to see they openned their service up to orphans. Three of the techs from Travel Supreme have also openned a big shop in Elkhart to deal with T.S. coaches, so really not too worried about service and with the Spartan chasis and other suppliers warranty not overly concerned. Jayco still has the end cap forms and could probably get them to build one if the worst happens.

Thanks guys,
Gene

Hi Anne and Gene, congrats on the new rig. It was very hard for us,(me mostly , to give up our 5th wheel and Volvo truck for our motorhome but like you we decided to switch gears as well. Its a lot easier for us now especially that we have our toad with us when we get to our destination. I miss our old rig but we're finding out that for the five of us the decision to go with the pusher over the HDT was the right move in our situation.
Good luck and happy travels.
Dave

Gene

Very!!! Very!!! NICE!!!!

The last Truck I owned before I got on as a Full Time FireFighter was a 1980 Peterbilt Model 359, 400 Cummins, with a Fuller 15 Over and 4:10 Gears.

Wish I still Had it!!
