OuRV

Well, we bought this motorized home almost a year ago, but this is the first extended road trip we've taken him on; Florida to Montana...
We planned on getting a "starter" model, but the price was right and roughing it to us usually meant a Holiday Inn Express !

This big rig has everything and we are loving it. Having the usual new-bee problems and a few technical difficulties, but we're enjoying every minute of it! We've made it to Nebraska thus far so Montana is in sight! If our two four legged children stay behaved we will surely do it again....amybe even full time it!
Enjoy, Stay Safe & Healthy

If you can see Montana from Nebraska you have better eyesight than me.

The coach looks great and so does that site you are parked in. Wondering where that is, large spot with trees and all. Anyhow, have a great and safe time the rest of the way to MT. Can't wait to get back on the road ourselves.

Thanks! The site was a State Park in Alabama; Gunther Hill, just outside Montgomery. I think that's correct, but after so many in the last three weeks I may be confused

We've dry camped about 6 Walmarts while on the road, but now we're staying put for a few days in Buffalo Bill camp ground in North Plat (sp), Nebraska. We beat the triple digits of OK & KS and now that we're in some cooler weather we're resting up a little before continuing to MT & Glazier National Park.

Hope you guys can get back on the road soon!

Glacier National Park is a stunning place to visit. Took our Truck and Camper there a couple of years ago but want to go back with the MH and Toad so we can use the MH as home base and the Toad to really explore.. truly beautiful things to visit so hope you enjoy!

Nice rig. A good way to see the USA. We did that trip a couple of years ago.

Great "Starter" Rig! Looks really sharp, at least on the outside. Enjoy and many miles of safe and happy travels!

your rig is a beauty. Love the campsite, too. I like trees around me when possible. Post some pictures when you get to Montana. Continued safe travels.

Thanks!

Thank you all for the really positive feedback! It's easy to get buyers remorse when you spend so much money on what isn't an essential.

Well, we feel like we did make the right decision and have so far had a real blast! We've been on the road since 7/12/12 and have gone from Winter Haven, FL to Tallahassee, FL then on to Montgomery, AL, Birmingham, AL, Memphis, Ft. Smith, Arkansas, a few places in OK, a few more in KS, spent a week in Nebraska, Casper, WY and now are on our second day in Montana!

We can finally see that we're close to our destination of Glacier National Park. We plan to come back through the Dakota's and make it back to Florida when it cools off.

I've attached a few pictures of our for legged kids....Coach is the four year old Boxer and Lilith is the one year old Lab.

Thanks again and we hope all are safe and healthy!

Nice looking rig and it is essential. When a big hurricane is headed your way, hop in that baby and take off for dry land.

Keep it full of gas and clothes, food, etc and you have a safe home where ever you want it.

I'm curious if the windshield wipers stay where they are in the picture or do they "park" down and out of sight?

Thanks Arch! Yeah, we do plan on the MH being our hurricane escape and shelter, but after surviving 3 storms in 2004, we hope that our days of seeing hurricanes will be limited...of course we did plan this road trip so wed be out of the state for the bulk of the hurricane season

I took that picture in Montgomery, AL the day after our wiper motor went bad so the wipers were stuck in that position. When the motor "froze-up" it caused the "smart wheel" (the computer that handles all the electronics in the steering wheel to short out. The Freightliner service shop there couldn't diagnose it (even after $225 worth of labor) so we ended up taking to another in Memphis that diagnosed it less than an hour. We did end up having to stay in Memphis for week waiting in the parts, but enjoyed the stay anyway. It did end up costing $1200...thank goodness for extended warranties!

Good Luck in your travels!
Chris
