Passing through White Sands

Not a new rig to us, but never posted a pic...I don't recall. Been full timing in this one since early 2016 and made it through the 49 states, CA, MX. The train gets really long triple-towing a 13ft JP trailer with our SxS behind the fifth.

Triple-towing is not legal in any state for RV's, what you describe is double-towing. If towing 2 trailers is triple-towing what do you call driving the truck only? Single-towing???

Here is a bit of unsolicited advice. Don't believe everything the government tells you. 🤔

That's a beautiful rig! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

When both trailer are detached, is that single-towing?

Not sure, your the one who mentioned single towing. Tell us.

I personally don't care what you call it. In the RV world, non commercial application, most typically refer to three vehicles in a tow configuration as triple tow. Get it?
Three vehicles...in a tow configuration...triple...tow?😲

Truckers refer to pulling two trailers as a double tow. Tomato, Tomata... Not really worth a discussion.

Who cares what you call it, what are you using for a hitch setup? Has it caused you any issues with the trailer frame. Keep debating having the baby hitch wings on my bighorn removed and adding a real hit to tow my RZR on a utility trailer. Just concerned the lippert frame isn’t up to the task

I am using a Curt class III 72 inch adjustable hitch from e trailer.

I think it has actually strengthened the frame. It's 1/4 inch steel, same as the frame. It bolts (or can be welded) directly to the frame. Took me about a hour to install, including adding a 4-pin trailer light hookup.

Max weight is 3500lbs. My SxS weighs about 1800 and the trailer weighs about 1200. Had to flip the leaf springs to over the axles to bring the height up to the 5vr hitch point to keep all level.

Did you spend a night in the area? I used to live just over the hill from there.
