Sold our Fifth Wheel and got a new Motorhome!
Hello to all,
Wow, we are so excited with our new 2014 Tiffin Allegro Bus 45LP! We bought it from General RV in Draper, Utah. Robert Jensen the owner and Ray (Senior) our sales agent, were wonderful to work with and made us a GREAT deal!
We had a 2003 Winnebago JourneyDL 34HD that we sold last year. We bought a new 2013 Keystone Montana 3582RL thinking we would like the more open feel of the fifth wheel. My wife did, but after a year with that unit, I decided that if we were going to travel a lot, it would have to be in a motorhome. We looked at Newmar, Winnebago, Entegra, and Tiffin. After a lot of research, we were ready to trade in the Montana and buy a new Phaeton 42 footer. Our salesperson, Ray (Senior), called me to let me know that they had a 2014 Allegro Bus 45LP on the lot that the purchaser lost the financing on. Said that they would make us a steal of a deal on it. I talked to the owner Robert Jensen and he was true to his word! Gave us a great price on the trade and an awesome price on the new Bus.
So far we have only had it out for a few weeks to break it in and then back to General RV to take care of the hit list. Getting it ready now for our two month trip south to Tucson, over to the Gulf Coast, on to New Orleans then Tampa, up to Birmingham to see our daughter, then to Red Bay for a visit, and then back to Utah.
Can't wait to get on the road and see the sights!

Beautiful Unit! Best of luck with it. I suggest that you will enjoy riding in your coach much more than in a pickup truck! The first time you stop and have an impromptu lunch and a cold beverage and maybe a little tv or something, you will really see the benefits. The other big benefit is that now the towing vehicle is much bigger than the vehicle being towed! Enjoy your travels! Sounds like it isn't going to be one of those units that sits in storage a lot!

what is it latley? DW was caught looking at a new 45 footer the other day and then beat me up all the next day about maybe we should trade up.........

Wonderful! That is a beautiful coach. I could never switch back to a 5er after having my coach. Nice choice as well.

I'm in a similar situation as you. I have a 2013 5th wheel toy hauler and now I am extremely interested in big motorhomes (42 - 45 Tag). I am starting to realize how nice the convenience of travelling in a MH would be, with my two large dogs. Being able to make a sandwich, use the facilities, take a nap, etc., while driving down the road. I know the dogs would be much more comfortable and we would be as well not having a whole back seat full of Airedales.
We love the 5th wheel and I have a TV that is dual purpose as a work truck. The beauty of my arrangement is that the truck literally pays for itself, or at least 90% of the cost of it, insurance, tires, and maintenance. That's like only having to pay for 1/2 of a motorhome.
Now, I have to decide if I can make such a large purchase before I sell the S&B, and still keep my current tow vehicle, which I have to have for my business. Just curious. How big of a hit I would take getting rid my 2013 5th wheel. I assumed it would be huge.
BTW, that is a gorgeous new coach and definitely what I am talking about.
