Virgin cruisers with new wheels

Hey Y'all,
Well, we did it! Got it a couple weeks ago, and went on our Maiden voyage this past weekend! Of course we were scared senseless, Being RV-Virgins! Worried about driving, tail-swing, and most importantly, proper septic management! YIKES :O Never the less, it all went well! Had a fantastic weekend at Flamingo Lakes, Jacksonville fl. (about 15 miles from the house) One thing did catch us off guard! We were SURE the fridge wasn't working after getting all hooked up! But learned by several seasoned campers,,, it takes a long time for it to cool down!
Anyway, we are Robin and Russ, and anticipate many suggestions, helpful hints, and trick of the trade from you folks!

Welcome to iRV2 .
Great looking rig , you must have heard that we love pictures.
When planning a trip , start the fridge 48 hrs in advance and try to load food items that are already cold , for best fridge operation.
Safe Travels, and remember every one here in the forums was a new-bee at one time, questions ? don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome. Beautiful RV.

Never, ever, let anyone rush you when driving. I see some campground ushers take off like shots. I guess they don't abide by their own speed limits. I creep around tight places. I do not let them guide me in most of the time.

If you get to an intersection where the turn is difficult, just take your time. I often see some aware driver hold back traffic so I can make a turn. Even if you mess up and kind of get stuck in an intersection and have to wait for traffic to clear, don't get rattled. Heck, they don't know you and will never see you again. Just wave, red faced and add that lesson to your experience.

Look online for the Happy Daze confidence driving course for some great tips.

Have fun.

Beautiful Coach!! We've only been at this two years now and just did the same thing with the fridge, turned it on in the morning before we headed out and by noon it wasn't cold. Thought it was out but a few hours later is stated cooling down. Next time I'll turn it on sooner. Still learning.

Happy trails!

From a fellow newbie, congrats!

We are having a blast, but every trip has a learning experience. Some funny, well, most funny afterwards, some result in a bit of pain.

A septic mgt recomendation for you.... Before you pull the black tank lever, dump a little gray water to make sure all your connections are tight.....

Also, consider putting some sort of padding on the bottom and corners of your slides, as you will whack your head at some point, and it helps if you put it on immediately after you open them, because the padding does no good if you haven't put it on.
