What do I need for my new motorhome
Just wondering if anyone has a handy dandy list of "must haves" for a new motorhome? We pick up our brand new, 1st ever motorhome next week and I am clueless on what to get!
Thanks!

Congratulations on the new RV. What did you get?
We just looked around the house and saw what we use every day. Then tried to mirror that. Things like dishes (we use Corelle Ware) and silverware all the way down to tools and lubricants.
Don't forget a Good quality sewer hose, especially if your new ride comes with one of those cheap sinky slinky. I use Rhino Flex.

Fresh water hose if not already in the MH
Sewer hose, two 15 foot sections.
Clear connector so you can see when the tank runs clear.
25 foot garden hose for black tank rinse. (Zero G brand is very campact)
Quick connect hose fittings makes the connections easier. Do not get them from Lowes or Home Depote as these are just colored aluminum and will carrode. Use the all brass from Ace or other hardware store.
TPMS should be obtained as ASAP for both MH and toad. This is a must safety feature.
A compact folding ladder, 7 ft, so you can clean the windshield. I use one from CW that folds into a 7ft x5x5 unit. Not a good choice if you 250 lbs.
Tools commensurate with your abilities.
For exterior stuff that will get you started.
For the interior think compact, light and breakable.
Nesting cook ware (Rapid Chef or Magna Ware) and Corel dinner ware saves space.
Turvis tumblers don't break. Wine glasses are a different story, no plastic.
Most everything else is what every you would normally use in a very small house with limited storage.

The only real requirement for owning any type of RV is having a credit card with a low balance. You will be adding to it shortly. The overall quality on all models is poor and that card will get a lot of exercise.
Good luck!

It would help if we knew what MH you were getting. Some, like ours, came with the water hose on a reel and a good quality stinky slinky as well as the SaniCon hose. We don't have an attached ladder so I had to buy that as well as carry one of the 7' folding ones.
So it does make a difference

Having just gone through this with our first ever RV, it might be easier to tell you what you won't need. We're 3 months in and still finding must have items.
Bedding for all the beds....I have them in individual bags that you vacuum the air out of...saves space.
RV toilet paper
Whatever you want to use to keep your tanks clean...we're doing GEO
Grill and utensils
Pie irons
Wiener sticks
Rug for outside under awning...keeps a lot of dirt out
Tablecloth for picnic table
Firestarters/lighter fluid/matches/hatchet
Spices/salt/pepper
Toothpicks
Batteries
Toiletries
Water filter for where hose connects to outside spigot
Tow system if you're using a toad
GPS
Cold beer
ETC ETC ETC ETC
Congratulations on your new RV!

We've been wintering in the south for 3-4 months each year for 13 years and have never had, or needed, a bean bag toss board.
BTW my wife says she would like a chef and a maid before we get a bean bag toss board.

Forgot to add this to my list....they go with us on every camping trip...along with our yard sized Yahtzee game! Enjoy playing with visiting kids and grandkids. Ours aren't as colorful as yours....those are beautiful!

When you get home with your new MH camp in the driveway a few days. Avoid going into your house, and you'll soon learn all the things that you need. Make sure you have good safety items. Fire extinguishers, CO and smoke detectors. surge protectors and water pressure regulators.
