Mine was 16'. Tried towing it with a 4spd Camaro with a 425hp 396 ci engine. Lots of go but not enough engine cooling, no air con and no family room!
Boy, how things have changed!
Our first Newmar was a 2000 DSDP 3865. OP, post some interior pictures, I'm curious as to how yours is laid out.

Welcome...welcome...

Bob and I wish you many happy miles and smiles with your new rolling vacation home. Our last RV was a beloved Newmar and we really amped up our RV travels in it....but we did not do near enough traveling as we should have. We now do many, many more trips with our Fleetwood. We should have used the Newmar more but we just did not and I love the dear RV.

Our advise to you is get away as much as you can. We take off almost every weekend from April until November. We attempt to do long weekends when we can. We dry camp at state fairs and Nascar races and we utilize full service campgrounds whenever I can talk hubby into that....He likes saving a buck...LOL!!! We do a couple of long weeks nearby the home every summer and we commute back and forth to work, but it always feels wonderful to get back to the RV each night. This year we hope to do a couple of month long trips to points south when the winter gets cold up here.

I learned from our previous RV...(the Newmar) to keep the rolling home stocked and ready to go at a moment's notice. I keep lots of clothes in the closets and drawers. I have lots of non-perishables in the cabinets so I can cook a gourmet meal if we need to when we pull into any spot. But I also make sure that I keep DVD's, books, etc...for when our SAT dish does not work. We have been spoiled at home with all of the comforts and hubby expects it when we travel and it makes life easier for me to keep him happy....Sorry to say this but sometimes men are like children...you have got to keep them well fed and entertained to make sure that everything is happy...

But keep looking for places to go and keep smiling because nothing happens in the RV that you cannot laugh about afterwards. (We learned this the hard way because I tend to stress when things do not go exactly as planned....Like when the grandkids flooded the RV when they left the kitchen faucet on all night....)

So have fun and keep smiling and we hope to meet you down the road....

Faith, Bob, and the pups

Lori-
I'm a little late, but here is a link to all of the pics of what it looked like when I bought it in October of 2013!

Click the link below and let the slideshow begin! (Also...as you may or may not know, the TV has been replaced with a more modern TV. Link below. Also note that the stain in the recliner was removed. )

Click here for pics of the Kountry Star in and out!
