Except for maybe a couple of them, I don't see those worthy enough for someone's "bucket list".

Not many on this list that I'm interested in.

This is what I've crossed off my bucket list

  1. Trip to Alaska
  2. Trip to Hyder Alaska to view the grizzlies
  3. Drive most of Hwy A1A in RV
  4. Albuquerque International Balloon Festival
  5. Driving Hwy 101 from Tacoma WA all the way to Santa Rose Ca
  6. Getting to the top of Bear Tooth Pass in RV, getting out of the coach and having a guy come and tell me I was crazy.
  7. Trip to Bar Harbor Maine via Vermont & New Hampshire
Still to do
  1. Quartzite
  2. Monument Valley
  3. Brice Canyon
  4. Trip to Nova Scotia
  5. Another trip to Alaska

I agree!

I also agree that the list doesn't contain many of the places that we've had on our list over the last 35 or so years. A few on this list that we have visited are Key West, Williamsburg, Rushmore, and Padre Island (actually the National Seashore). We live fairly close Crater Lake and the Columbia so we have been there often. None of these were near the top of our list, but they are all nice with their own attractions. We have never travelled to visit campgrounds, only NPs, NMs, etc., but then we've never been full timers generally spending only 2-3 months/yr. in our RV

Looking at #2 I'm reminded of a night we spent parked on a similar beach at Galveston, TX. When we went to bed the water was way out there. When we woke up the next morning it was only a few feet from our tires. I hadn't expected that.

It's all beautiful, and there is a LOT of it.

All the best.

Steve

jacwjames-thank you for not taking your rv on the Beartooth. Definitely a beautiful road to be enjoyed but everything in its right place.

It looks like someone's idea, for the most part, of great places to 'camp' is alongside of big bodies of water - but that's one of many things that makes RVng so interesting.

I always wonder who actually make up these 'must see' lists. They're nice places but to put on your bucket list?

The site says those places are the "most searched" on Yahoo. How they derive these to be "bucket list" from that is beyond me.

Thumbs up

We just completed our trip from NC to AK this summer. Had a blast. Would like to do it again but too far away for the money and time. There are so many other things and places to see in the USA.
Been to Nova Scotia, going again.
Did the A1A trip. Too many idiots and traffic lights.
Did Moab, Monument Valley is when we go to Flagstaff.
Too many places not enough time or money. Can not wait to get back on the road.
