16 degree low last night

Even with water hose insulated no water this morning. Luckily I filled on board fresh water the other day. But when every thing thawed out water filter cracked. It is just outside the slideout window at the kitchen table where I have the laptop. So it only sprayed for a few minute before I notice the window just above laptop screen was wet. And I knew they hadn't called for rain today. Not a good day. So went to Wally world to get a new filter. While there I felt a pop in my right hip. Next thing I know I am laying in the aisle. It took a guy to help me up. Said to heck with it and limped out to the truck and drove back to the RV park. I've had problems with it the last 10 yrs but not like today. I guess I had too many yrs running around a steel flight deck of Aircraft Carriers. Feeling ok now and able to negotiate around 5ver. Have an appointment at the base clinic to see my neighbor who is also my primary care guy on Monday. He is the senior medical Officer on base.

CorsairIIAT: Please report back as to what happened to your hip.

Many people question military retirements. With few exceptions there is no occupation harder on the body. The violence on the body, even in peacetime,
is beyond a civilian's comprehension. Good luck.

Insulation only slows down the heat loss on the hose. You need to wrap it with the electric heat tape and them put on the insulation.

Saw my neighbor pull in about an hour ago from his San Diego house to his RV. So went down to talk with Commander Doc. He said he has seen this in a lot of retirees. On a Carrier theres close to if not more than 20 levels from the bowels of the hull to the top of the island tower. If your going down there is a grab rail to swing down and skip the last half of steps. It speeds up travel in an emergency. But over the long haul it either effects the knees or hips later in life. He is still gonna see me Monday and take xrays. But says more than likely I'm looking at a hip replacement in my future.

Same here Jim. 16 two nights ago 19 last night. BRRRRRR I did replace the filter and new water hose today this time filter got insulated.
Ken my insulation is normally good here. It works down to about 20 degrees. Our normal lows here are about 25-30. My problem was I hadn't noticed insulation had slid down off the filter exposieing to the cold. I also am up very early (Before sunrise) and running water for bathroom sink toilet and a pot of coffee so a few gallons before the coldest time. Just yesterday it didn't work.
