twogypsies,
My experience on 89 in 5/14 was that the pavement was rough and broken up
in many places between Flagstaff and Page. page to the Utah border was OK
and once into Utah the pavement was very good.
We were in Kingman, I-40 to Flagstaff then 89. Stayed a few nights near
Bryce, then continued north. The stretch of I-40 was a rough piece of
pavement as well. However they were starting a repaving project.
All, this got lost in the translation, it wound up going to the help desk
two gypsies,
Did you do some seminars at Life on Wheels Conferences?

No we didn't do the seminars. You might be thinking of Nick Russell of Gypsy Journal. There are a lot of us gypsies out there.

RE: 89 . . . We must have driven it the times after repaving.

West on CA58 to Bakersfield. Pick up I-5 at Bakersfield and follow all the way to Portland. Use I-205 to bypass most of Portland, it reunites with I-5 north of Vancouver. North on I-5 to US101. Take 101 to where Hwy 8 starts. Hwy 8 will take you to Aberdeen.

Safe travels.
I agree with this post. I just made the same trip in March, it is a fun drive. Good roads except for maybe I 5 south of Sacramento. Excellent roads from Sacramento north.
