Recently sold a car for cash and living where we do (Dominican Republic most of the time) the transaction took place at our lawyers office. I agree use a bank, credit union or your lawyer.

The problem here is you are traveling with a stranger and a large amount of cash that he knows about... been there, can be very uncomfortable...

both go the a bank... withdraw and hand to him in front of teller, and he signs over title. ask a manager to be there as well. and a notary ...
I purchase my used trailer last year from a dealer using all cash... Manager, salesman and there accountant. in managers office. my choice. and all paper work done then.

I have sold all my vehicles and trailers cash only. Not a red flag but be safe as all have said. I also sold a car to a Canadian, he did a bank transfer to my account.
I am in California.

Cash is King. Sold our 5er and accepted a bank draft. Kept the trailer until the bank draft cleared.

I personally do not want cash. Its too easy to counterfeit these days. The last few things I've sold, we exchange money at the bank. I do not even touch the money. They count the money out to the cashier and then I sign the title over right there. It just protects me. But the bank even told me that if it later turns out to be counterfeit, I'm responsible. When I bought my trailer, The seller wanted cash or cashiers check from my bank. I preferred the check.

There are also professional escrow companies that will assist. This is how some eBay motor sales work, I'm told.

I've sold several vehicles the last couple of years and made two buyers pay cash. I went to the bank with another and he got a cashiers check. I wouldn't take any check from a stranger as they can be forged pretty easily today. and yes, it can be a PITA to count out $15,000 in hundred dollar bills.

If you find it too onerous I would be happy to count it for you! LOL You should try the plastic bills from Canada.

Thank All for the excellent advice!!
Just want to thank everyone for their advice and experiences! It certainly was timely and gives me a plan, once the purchase is made. I had individually thanked many of you & hope I don't offend the many recent posts on the topic that I didn't thank individually!
I decided to pass on that particular class C after looking at a few class A's in the same price range. I am currently reevaluating my future FT RVing adventure to include class A. Even though I'm currently solo, the massive increase in room is hard not to consider. Just need to come to grips with the added maintenance cost of the bigger coach. Lots of research to be done & irv2 is an awesome source of intel!!
Thanks again ALL!!

If you are looking at a C then moving to an A gas should not increase maintenance a huge amount. Diesel is another story so there are several threads about it. ;-)

Why not do an etransfer and provide password when transaction completed.

I'm pretty sure the limit on an etranfer is in the range of $2000. I tried that with a car I bought a while back. No go.
