Funny how a question asked, can get so far away from the original.in answers I simply asked if I could run the 2 together......... I do have 50 amp service on my rig.....I do not run the onboard genset unless I need my microwave or the coffee pot as the 2000 will run them but really strains, so I use the big one....not worried about fuel or anything else, thanks to the replys on that item..........

If you are feeding the Honda through the shore power cable socket the electronics will shut off that feed and use the Onboard Onan feed when you start it. I do it all the time with a Honda EU 1000 just used to charge batteries. Not a problem. Shut the Onan off and the Honda will be reconnected.
Been doing it for many years with no issues.
