We did Yellowstone with 5 other rigs in 1997. Had a blast except for the one night at the West Yellowstone KOA. Grass was knee high around every site, mosquitos everywhere, even a smoky fire wouldn't stop them, friends kids went to the clubhouse to play games and the manager ran them out. Then there was the $60 a night charge for just the two of us. The friends with kids got charged $106 for one night, 6 kids, 2 adults.

Having a great time here! A little cold at night and we got caught in a snowstorm yesterday but all is fantastic. Saw lots of bison, a couple wolves today and some coyote. It's only costing us about $12 per night with 50 amp service and water with our disabled National park pass. So much natural beauty to see.

Rainbow point campground. It's outside the park but fully wooded and remote camping. Usually $25 A night but we have the disabled parks pass so it is $15 with 50 amp and water.

Where the heck are the pictures?

Did you have to make reservations for the Rainbow campground? Where there plenty of walk up sites available?

We made reservations due to it being Memorial holiday week. There were some spots during the week but was full by Friday.

The cafeteria at Mt Rushmore used to have the best beef stew I've ever eaten. Good ice cream store by it too.

Go to the night presentation if you can. Lightening storm came in while we were there and lit up the mountain side with several bolts of lightening. Really neat!!

Travel day today. Drove to Little Big horn battlefield and stopped to explore Custers last stand. Outstanding presentation and description of the events of the battle and circumstances. Off to Mount Rushmore tomorrow in the am.
