2000 Damon Intruder Electrical Troubleshooting

I switch out an old deep cycle battery for new.
All of the coaches electrical systems worked with old battery, air, slides, microwave, etc.
Now nothing works, any suggestion of what to check.
I am new to motor homes and wanted to have a general idea of what I am looking at before taking it a repair shop.
Thank you,
Jeannie

Well. It should be a fairly short list to get started. Re-check what you did. If you had power before the new battery, and thats all you did, go back to square one.

New battery hooked up correctly ? Reversed polarity ?
Is the new battery charged ?
Did the new battery work at all ?
Could you have switched the "salesman switch" off while working on it ?
Does it have one or two coach batteries ?
6 or 12 volt.
Good luck

Hello Jeannie and We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy the website and forums. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted.
Make sure all the right cables were installed tightly in the correct position as was on the old battery connections. Turn on the battery disconnect and check to see if any lights inside the coach come on. If not then you will need to start at the battery with a volt meter set on a dc volt scale and check to be sure a good voltage is read at the battery post. Then check for voltage with the negative lead on the frame and the positive on the battery positive. This will ensure good ground cable connection to frame. Now you can use the frame as a common ground point and test any component that the positive cable leaving the battery bank to be sure 12 vdc passes thru and then go to the next component until you find one that voltage stops and does not proceed further. This will be the problem area. Let us know what you find and good luck.
