I have a 04 Southward and replaced my old front tv with a flat screen a few years ago. Took old tv out and removed the box that is covered in vinyl and reduced its size so it does not hang down as far and put it back in place. Built frame inside old cabinet out of wood to mount bracket that the new tv would hang on that also had a locking device to secure tv to keep it from jumping off. Had to move doors on either side just a fraction of an inch to accommodate the width of the new TV. It was a lot easier than I thought. Looks like it was always there.
