Post 2006 Beaver Patriot Thunder-Radio/Nav System

We purchased a 2006 Beaver Patriot Thunder and we are being told that the Radio/Nav system cannot be re-ordered that it would have to be found in an RV Graveyard. Does anyone know where we can find one or what other options we may have to resolve this issue? We do not have radio at all and the Nav screen does not work. I really would like to have a new system but we just need some additional options that may be available.

New Beaver Owner-Welcome! I think you bought the best year Beaver; 2006 or 2007. We have a new to us 2005 Beaver Patriot Thunder Lexington (40'w/tag). In 2006, Beaver made some real improvements to the coach (relative to our 2005), so you got a good one! If yours is like ours, the radio is a Kenwood, and yes, they don't make an exact replacement, but you could just yank out the old and replace with any other make/model radio (Kenwood, Pioneer, etc).

Unless your really trying to keep the originality of the unit, it doesn't make any sense to reuse 10 year old technology. I don't think you are going to be able to find any updates for that NAV system anyhow. Just replace the radio/stereo system with something newer that will handle USB and Bluetooth inputs. I would keep the navigation separate with one of the many available GPS units. Our original in dash unit stereo/NAV was also tied into the TV and was used as a DVD player. I pulled all that stuff out and replaced the in dash stereo and added a DVD to the entertainment center which I also updated. The GPS function is handled by iPhone or Garmin GPS.
If your not comfortable in that area, any decent stereo store can handle the install. You have lots of choices.
