2008 chassis vs 2011 chassis

I am having a motorhome built and have the choice between a new 2008 or 2011 Freightliner M2 Chassis to use. Of course the 2008 is pre urea and is $10,000 cheaper, but has been sitting for 2 or more years. The motorhome on the 2008 chassis will be titled as a 2010 and the other a 2011. Would like any opinions on this matter.

First thing that occurs to me is that the tires on the 2008 are probably 3+ years old already.

2008/2011

Tires/batteries and the coach on the 2008 titled 2010 is one year old by the book. If you pay top price 2011 you lost 1 year if titled a 2010. You might save a little at sales tax. I would use the 2008 ask for a discount (yr. old coach),new tires and batteries.

if frame is an 08
your tires should be replaced as part of the deal period.
sitting for 3 or more years is just to much of a risk to your safety

we all know up-fitters and the like do not take the time to preserve the tires or even check inflation, so the course of safety would say imo to have then replaced

the batteries are imo under the same rule

my 08 sat for a year and they ended up replacing the batteries..because again it was plugged in at the dealer and no one ever checked teh water levels, so they were all but bone dry

titling it as a 2010 no big deal as your chassis and box warranty start at the time of sale, not when built.
