2015 models on sale in Jan 2014
Can someone explain to me why RV dealerships are allowed to advertise and sell RV's as 2015 models in early January 2014. The RV's have without a doubt been manufactured in 2013 - otherwise they could not be available this early in 2014.
I can see the benefit from the dealers point of view, but the fact remains that they are selling a 2013 made vehicle.
Why is this legal in the first place? Apart from vehicles I can't think of anything else that is sold with this kind of misleading marketing.

In many cases, the newly manufactured models are of a new design that is designated a later year design, hence the later year designation.
In other words the 2015 models being sold I guess are new designs that have some differences to the 2014 models. Who knows, it does seem somewhat deceptive to me as well.

Should have said 10/2013, mistakes happen, but don't know about Apple stock nor do I care.

Darn....looks like I'll have to cancel that order for the new Prevost! Just kidding ya...but it does pretty much illustrate the Op's point.

And when is their delivery date. We ordered a 2014 Phaeton in July of 2013 and took delivery in August of 2013

The purchaser is the benefactor. You can buy a 2015 model now, drive it for five years and have a vehicle, that on paper is four years old .

I spoke to the sales staff at McMahons RV in Palm Springs CA yesterday, and they have a 2015 Monaco on their premisses that he wanted me to buy.

Last month (January 2014) I bought 2 new starting batteries from Napa. Both batteries have a sticker on them that shows when they are manufactured, and both stickers read February 2014.
OK - it's not the crime of the century, but it does make me wonder how much we can trust these manufacturers. I just hope that the butcher don't start doing this with my steak

Either they sold it in one day or they have it hidden as there is no 2015 MH listed at McMahons that I could find and no Monaco listed at all
