30 amp 50amp

driving from norcal to just over the british Columbia border. looking over my info on the campgrounds we will stay at most are 30 amp hook ups, but then one place said all hook ups are 50 amps. this is new RV for me and have only stayed where 30 amp hook up. I have 2018 forest river class c and not sure where to look for the preferred amp for my RV ?

What is the size of your main breaker/does your plug have 4 prongs (50amp) or 3 prongs (30amp)

It’s most likely a 30 amp coach.

You can buy a 50 amp to 30 amp "Dog Bone" converter. I carry one to use when I have both 30 and 50 at a campground pedestal and the 30 amp socket is in poor condition.

HERE:

I’ve used a dog bone, 50 amp to 30 amp with no issues.

“Almost always” parks with 50 amp service, also have 30 and 15 amp on the same pedestal, personally for a trip like that I would get a 50 to 30 adapter and a 15 to 30 amp adapter

No you don't ....
As suggested buy a 50A (male) to 30A (female) adapter so you can plug adapter into the 50A pedestal receptacle and then your 30 RV cord into the adapter

The adapter will ONLY energize the ONE hot leg that your 30A RV uses.
Simple...SAFE

Most times the 50A receptacle is in better condition then the 30A so having that adapter is GOOD THING

Thanks for info

spacing the campgrounds about 6 hrs apart "according to google". then if there is no road construction or fender benders or forest fires or ??? should be a smooth trip

I have a plugin for an outlet that tells the voltage that's there. Have found in crowded CGs, lower voltage on the 30 amp over adapting to a 50 amp service. 50 amp plugs are not usually as worn as the 30 amp.
