30 AMP vs. 50 AMP

2002 Gulf Stream Ultra, Class C, with 30 AMP. Can it be plugged into a 50 AMP without damage?

Stupid question #1...and I'm sure you know where I'm going with this...is there a better chance of getting a full 30 amps when plugging into a 50 amp socket than simply going to a 30 amp?

Not stupid. Yes it is.

Old 30 amp pedestals are likely to have less than 30 amps available depending on how many are using them at the same time.

Yes,
I have used a "50amp to 30amp Dogbone" to solve a problem with the park 30amp breaker. The coach 30amp breaker with still protect your electrical system.
One point: If you do not have a automatic voltage/amp checker, it is a good thing to protect all your electronics. A portable or fixed mount units are available.
Regards,
JimB
