54 days and counting

Anyone else out there nearing retirement? 54 days and counting here. What are your plans? FT'ing, longer road trips? A bucket list or two?

Not as soon as you have not set a final date but After May 1 st sometime. 44 Years working for the same company I think it is time. We will spend a lot of time winters in Florida, Ohio in the summer, and the remaining time at our home in Georgia. Have not planned a lot but Sturgis is on the list and some Nascar races.

I'm eligible for unreduced early retirement in May. I plan to hang in for one more year then hit the road full timing in May of 2014, so that would be about 14 months from now.

Wife will be working for the next two years, but has 5 weeks vacation each year, so I see us taking a couple 2 + week trips each year. And lots of 4 day local camping weekends.

Congrats Pepper2! We are looking at the end of this year... and that is coming fast! almost too fast! We are planning to FT in a 5th wheel trailer that we expect to pick up next month. Plans? follow mild weather for the most part, but still want to ski; stay in mountains, near lakes & rivers, in desert areas, visit family, friends old and new. We love festivals - music, harvest that kind of thing. Most of all just keep on enjoying the ride. Have fun!

Congrats from here as well. I will qualify for OAS this fall but have been semi retired for 5years. We have downsized from a house to a condo so hopefully many trips to come. We are sitting in Yuma right now in the middle of our winter holiday. May you have many enjoyable trips.

Retirement and being able to travel whenever we want is the best thing since sliced bread , very worth the wait.
