5th wheel or bumper pull?
Hello, my name is Michael and I have a bumper pull that is 25' not including the tongue. I have pulled lots or trailers but my RV is the tallest. It was very un-nerving pulling in a high wind. My question, is pulling a 5th wheel easier in the wind than a bumper pull. What is you experience?

I've never had a TT, but I can highly recommend the 5th wheel for stability under any circumstances! We went from a 28' to 32' and finally to a 36' which we kept for 10 years before getting the MH. The 36' 5er was so stable I would sometimes forget it was back there!

Wind will always be a issue but I found that when I owned a 5er it was far better in the wind than my TT. The 5er was great with the extra room inside as well. The 5th wheel was faster to load and unload as well. As long as you have a truck that will handle the job go with a fifth wheel, you'll be pleased. Good luck with your choice.

Part of the issue maybe the hitch. I have had no issues with either my 25'er or with the new 28'er using the Hensley.

they both have their pro's and con's but specifically what you asked about....the 5er will always tow better/easier than a TT.

The 5th wheel is tows better because you are carrying 20% of the weight in bed of the truck. With a pull behind, you are carrying 10% on the rear end...the equalizer hitch helps a bit.

No question about it the fifth wheel tows a lot better, especially in the wind.
