On my tractor my left hand is on the spinner which is at 10:00, right hand on the front end loader control.

Oops, I guess that doesn’t count

I use slightly below 9 and 3 because the 2 spokes (with button controls) are below center .... at those positions my fingers are within reach of the wiper buttons etc.

In a follow up to my previous comment I asked the driver of the team I work for (#48 ARCA car for those that are interested) why race car steering wheels are so close to the driver. In addition to what I stated before he said it is also to help eliminate arm fatigue. Just following up.

I need to change my previous statement. I did not experience the collision at 10 and 2. I now remember when I realized I was not going to get stopped, I slid my hands quickly to 8 and 4. Sorry for the bad memory.
