98 Discovery 36' no power in coach with Onan generator running

Hi..I just purchased a 1998 Fleetwood Discovery 36T motorhome. I started the Onan and have no power to any outlets and roof air conditioners arent working. Checked all the breakers under fridge and they are all turned on....am I missing something here ? Is there a main power breaker in one of the storage lockers outside the coach? Help...I do not have shore power so Im relying on the generator.

There are breakers on the generator. Look near the start panel.

Seems like the black panel by the LR hall door had a switch on it?
Look for that and see.

As mentioned, verify the breaker located on the generator is switched on. If still no power, then remove the small cover where the cord exits the generator to access the connections. Use a volt meter to verify the unit is producing power. If it checks out, then your next stop is to the transfer switch to be sure it is switching and making contact.

Good luck!

I believe that the Onan will shut down if it not generating 120vac.
Maybe the transfer switch is stuck. Not toggling between shore ac and generator. Or a loose wire in the junction box leading to the transfer switch. turn the power off and check the junction box and the transfer switch and tighten everything up. I found my black input on my transfer switch was sitting outside of the socket 2 years ago.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! I too would guess it's the breakers on the generator!
Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
