In FL winterizing is when it is cool enough to turn off the AC and open the windows.

Not full timers yet but do go out for 3 month trips at time. We always end our trips in the south somewhere, so not to have to go through the hassle of winterizing, to store it till the next outing.

Winterized FOR THE LAST TIME this year. DW retires July 5th next year and then it will be the Fl. weatherization process. Till next spring I'll be in my usual winter morbid depressed state, like today looking at 18" of fresh snow from yesterday. WHY COULDN'T SHE HAVE RETIRED THIS YEAR??????????

I live in south Louisiana and winterized my motorhome for the first time last night, the process involved going outside to it and setting the furnace to 49 degrees to keep the pipes from potentially freezing. It is just before sunrise now and the temperature just dipped to 31 in the last hour or so....

Had to blow out the lines last month, expecting cold before we leave for Fl next month. Can't come soon enough.

Ours is in the shed and fully winterized. ....But, in Feb. we will get it out and head south. Probably Texas and Arizona this year. Until then we will celebrate Christmas, New Years, and several birthdays with family. Grandma cannot leave until the last Grandkid has a birthday party.
Right now it is 5 degrees outside and expected to be below zero next week. Six inches of snow expected tonight. Makes it all the better to go south to warmer weather when we do go.

I live in Jacksonville Fl (which is a just about as far north as you can go and still be in Florida) and I winterize the same way that Isaac does. If it's going to get REALLY cold overnight (you know, around 30 degrees or so ) then I'll turn on some hear in the RV. That's easy for me since it lives in my driveway. If I had it stored somewhere with no electric I would probably do a proper winterization on it (which would probably be a waste of time).
A dozen times a year we'll dip below freezing for a few hours. I really don't think that's long enough to cause damage, but I give the ol' gal some heat anyway.

One cold morning last year we had snow in the higher elevations surrounding Lake Havasu City, AZ. It made the front page of the newspaper. A lot of folks drove up to see the snow, but it melted by the afternoon.
While Lake Havasu City does have Green Bay (my old home town) beat weather-wise, it's only going to get to the low 70s in LHC today. Brrrrrr!
