Could be due to moving high end DP production.

Is this not midway through 2018! I think a year old article is a little moot at this time!

Interesting that the first article is dated today but the "update" is February, 2017.
The "update" was in a sidebar on the original story. Some update...

More "fake news". Good grief.

Quite confusing as it has been presented. This is how I see it (for what it's worth to anyone.)

The first linked article is dated today, Aug. 2, 2018, and states 35 permanent layoffs, following two consecutive profit reports of $86m and $98m. I take that as the real news. The second link is from a one year old report and, therefore, irrelevant.

My take away, Winnebago permanently cut 35 workers and is still making a profit, though it's not clear if those profits met projections.

Regardless, 25 or 35 employees, this year or last, it's still only about 3/4 of a percent of Winnegabo's nearly 4000 employees. Hardly a strong indicator of a radical change upcoming for the entire RV industry and I certainly wouldn't call it a "warning sign". I won't be shorting WGO anytime soon.

Winnebago makes nice DP's and recently moved that operation to Oregon, the heart of Country Coach and Monaco builds before the recession.

Here's something we noticed on our last trip. This year and last year were touted as some of the best RV sales in years. This showed up at some RV parks where it's been tough to get a site. BUT.....on a recent trip to Yellowstone and the surrounding areas, we saw several dealerships, that were bursting at the seems with new coach. This was just a few weeks ago. So.…...sales may be up, but apparently to just the dealers, as those lots should have been closer to empty.
