I have Good Sam's and have used it twice for my other vehicles and once for my RV. There as no need to have two different services as the Good Sam's covers all of your vehicles. No issues with service any of the times. Much better than the AAA I use to have.

Well, here's a vote or two for CoachNet. Had Good Sam for years, had SEVERAL problems on multiple times with them. Went with CN five or six years ago. Had to use them with my once-owned & glad it's gone class A several times with absolutely NO problems. Now with newer class A, haven't needed them. (Knock on wood!). But I like knowing they are there if I need their services.

Well, I had my first roadside assistance call through Coach-net and let me say I will not renew with Coach-net. I was charged $200.00 more than I was quoted and got no satisfaction from Coach-net. Poor customer service!

Battery on towed acting up (not on the MH at the time). Called AAA, asked about a replacement battery.. No problem they said. Gave them all the car info. even popped the hood to make sure of engine size. Selected the grade of battery, got a price.
Truck shows up....No battery, get a jump and on our way. Call AAA and they say they don't have battery replacement service in my area. Huh?
Have CN now but haven't needed it.

FWIW reading these stories for several years it seems that the service one gets depends on where one is. Service is contracted out to local providers providing there is a local provider. Quality is a function of the local provider. It also depends on where the unit is located. I have heard AAA will not come into a campground. We currently have both Good Sam And AAA because the addon to AAA was not that bad and has other benefits. Good Sam covers more on site service as well as towing etc. We hope that between the two we have coverage. ;-)

Traveling with family on your RV
Has anyone had any experience with roadside assistance when traveling with family members on your RV and had to be towed? What happens with the family if you are in a location without phone service distant 12 miles from any city and the roadside assistance wants to tow your RV for 100 miles and leave you and the family stranded alone with no transportation? All this 20 hours after you call them.

AAA Vs Good Sams Vs Coach Net
We have both AAA RV and Good Sams, considering CN.
First incident was on our boat trailer. Called GS, they couldn't tell me when anyone would be available, but would keep me updated. They never called back. AAA could have someone there within the hour, but by that time we'd already figured out how to fix the locked up wheel ourselves.
Second incident was on our new/used Redwood Fifth Wheel. Blown tire. GS again couldn't tell us when anyone would be able to help us, but would keep us updated. They called back a couple of times to let us know they were still trying to find someone. In the interim, I called AAA who had someone out within 30 minutes to change out the tire.
Same trip, about 60 miles down the road and another tire blew. Same side, called both companies and both said they could do nothing due to late hour and being a Sunday. Luckily, we were only about 60 minutes from home, so we dropped the fifth wheel, called local police to let them know our plans so they wouldn't tow the vehicle until we could get new tires on the rims in the morning.
About a week later we were on our way to the local Redwood dealer to get an estimate of damages when a third tire blew. AAA sent out a couple of tow companies that didn't have proper equip to lift 16,000lbs, GS told us to call 911. After 4 hours on the side of a very busy freeway, I called a policeman to help divert traffic from our location. Soon after a man and his son came along, changed out the tire with just three pieces of 2x10x4' wood stacked to back the good tire up on. Then they escorted us to the dealer to make sure we didn't have any more issues.
I know this is a long reply, but what we learned is that neither AAA nor GS "customer specialists" knew what a fifth wheel was, didn't know how to advise the tow companies, even though we explained to them in very simple terms, many times what we needed done.
End result, $7,000 in damage to our Redwood, plus $2,000 for new wheels and tires that will hold the weight and heat of our unit.

Years ago we had a blowout on our 34' motorhome, called GS, gave them our membership number, two hours later, a man showed up in a 1/2 ton PU without a jack large enough for our rig. He also didn't have a socket large enough to fit our lugnuts. Luckily, I had both and let him use mine. Then he messed up a wheelcover by trying to remove the wrong lugnut cover. After that fiasco, I didn't renew GS & went with CN. We have had to use their service several times in the intervening years. Always been very pleased with the service we've received from CoachNet.

Sounds like "nothermark" understands the road side assistance business model. However, i hope to only choose one road side service contract - and hope it works. Thanks for everyone's collective insight on this discussion.

We have CoachNet and have used them three times, all for tire issues. Overall I have been very happy with them.
Once they came into a campground to change a tire. I had to walk the repair guy through it as "this was his first RV", LOL, but he was just a kid and willing to learn. I would have done it myself but didn't have a jack.
The other time was last week, the guy who came out to the service plaza on the Ohio Turnpike was prompt, professional and fast. We were back on the road 45 minutes after he got there.
I'll stick with CN for now.
