That is a great question
The use of abbreviations, and of acronyms, makes messages difficult to understand...(and reading posts a guessing game).
Seems as though nobody knows how to type whole words...(either that or they are just plain lazy).

I'm with you!
If the author of a post is so inconsiderate, (lazy?) that he uses acronyms with out an explanation I simply ignore what he has to say...(no mater how important it might be).

It's always nice when some of the more obscure acronyms are, when first used, accompanied with an (explanation). IDAT. (I Do Appreciate That)

FWIW most of the acronyms are ubiquitous with folks who have limited keyboards like phones. That has them creeping into everyday life in other forms. Refusing to learn them is self limiting.

I don't mind learning new acronyms - my question was WHERE is the info. This site has been around for years, but I've only been here a few months. Yes, it is a little more difficult at first, and some are common sense, and some creep in from the texting world. But some are specific to the RV and camping world. My main question was is there a place to look things up if I am interested. I do ignore some because the poster didn't make sense (in my mind) to begin with, or I simply don't really care about the topic. But if someone was repairing something and I had a similar problem I'd want to make sure we were talking about the same thing. Wouldn't want to turn the wrong screw and have a disaster.

A surprising number can be found on Google. As for the rest most of us will tell somebody if asked. OTOH we now have a long list going. ;-)

Here's one we started in the insurance claims industry: RTFF (Read The F*cking File). This for annoying supervisors who have a file an adjuster is working on but doesn't bother reading through to find their answer.
