adding a battery

hi all. I would like to add another battery. was wandering if another battery would be too much for an in house inverter & charger.i have one now in my truck camper

What battery/batteries do you have?
What charger/inverter do you have?

By adding a battery you're not adding voltage just usable amperage and in most cases, extended inverter time. Charging will be affected in that it will lower the amperage to each battery. For instance if you have 4 batteries and a 100 amp charger each battery will charge at 25 amps and hour (not exact but you get the picture) so if you add 1 battery to the system each battery will receive 20 amp's during charging. If you do add a battery make absolutely sure it's an exact match for your existing battery/s

For clarification.

You assume that he knows the difference between "Parallel and Series" circuits.

Be sure to connect the batteries in Parallel! Series would hit the systems with 24 Vdc and there would be smoke.

I would recommend buying two new batteries at the same time for a perfect match.

There are many folks on this forum who will be glad to assist you and share our knowledge. However, we really need to know more about your rig as stated above. Converter make/model, inverter make/model, battery type, size and age, do have space for two batteries?
