Adjusting temperature on fireplace
We have a electric fireplace in our fiver. The knob that controls temperature I cannot get it set right. When it gets hot in the fiver I turn it back until I get a click and the fireplace stops heating. The problem is it will not start heating again after the temperature drops. It is either off or on. Any ideas ?

So, from a cold start, you have to turn the dial all the way up before it will turn on? Sounds like a bad switch.

No, it got a place where it comes on. The instructions reads when it gets the room as warm as you like to cut it back until it clicks. I do that and the heat goes off, but does not come back on. I can turn the knob about half a turn and it will start heating again.

Is your furnace on also? Try turning it on to half way so it comes on than turn it back half way between on and click and see what happens.
See if it cycles at that mid point.

I tired that 007 and nothing seems to work. It is a Dimplex Fireplace so I sent them a Email. Maybe I will hear back soon.

Tom I found this PDF for your fireplace give it a read there is a heat limit adjustment mentioned which could be your problem.
Let me know if it helps we can discuss further if not.
Found in Newmar tech spec's.

Dimplex has a recall on some their electric fireplaces due to fires caused by the remote control. http://www.recall.dimplex.com/

Roger, That the manual that came with it. I got a reply back from Dimplex today and they told me to turn the therostat all the way up until the room got to the temperature we wanted and then back it off until I get a click. I did that and it never came back on and the temp fell about five degrees. I also read from what you sent me to turn the heat switch off for five min. I done that and going to try it again. Thanks for looking it up for me.

Faulty thermostat. Replace it. probably says made in china on it

It could be made in China or most any other country. For North America the Dimplex manufacturing facility is in Cambridge , Ontario , Canada.

I got a reply from Dimplex and a phone number to call for a replacement thermostat. I am going to have to wait until we get home. This campground has no mail service. Thanks for all the replys.
