Hello
I was just wondering does any one carry a can of the aersol tire seal? I have LT235/84R16 tires load E,just for emercency use if you have a slow leak, to get to a repair center. Just curious,I see them at W/M for car and light truck tires.

Many tire shops will not do a tire repairs if they know you've used it as it's flammable. Shops that do an actual tire repair (not just plug it) will drill the puncture out with a high speed bit which will produce sparks when interacting with the steel cords.

Second problem is they are not very effective with a 16" tire.

If you want to protect against a slow leak enough to get to a tire shop your better off with investing in a portable air compressor that's compatible to your tire pressure requirements, plus you can use it from time to time to top off your tires if needed. If a portable compressor will not pump up your tire enough a can of fix a flat won't either.

If you do use it, tell the tire shop so that they can use caution. Also, expect to pay extra for them to clean up the mess. A proper tire repair requires dismounting the tire to inspect for run-flat damage and to install an inside patch.

I agree that buying a small compressor is the best solution. Also, consider a small tire plug kit with it just for a temporary repair.

Thanks I didn't know it was flammable!!
I have a portable compressor (sears 150psi) It sounds like it's more trouble than ist worth. Thanks Rick

The new Fix a Flat is nonflammable - I have used it on everything from Wheelbarrow wheels to truck tires.

"Tire Slime" is a very good product, but it takes about a pint for one 15" wheel. It must be put in the tire while flat then aired up. The same cleanup is required (water soluble) before the tire is repaired properly.

Agreed... I have also never had a tire tech charge extra or even get mad that I used. 'Course, you should let them know 'cause when they pull the valve, it'll make somewhat of a mess.
