Air bags

I was reading through the manuals on our new to us 2003 HR Vacationer. In the box were some receipts from the original owner and one said "Replace shocks with Bilsteins and check air bags. My question is would this model (36WDD) W22 Workhorse Chassis have come with suspension air bags?

Congrats on the new coach!

The W22 chassis does not have air bags. I think some of the older P32 chassis may have had them, but the W22 and W24 never did.

Would/could they have been installed?

I'll have to do some checking underneath and look. As I mentioned I just ran across a copy of an invoice in the owners binder and put the question out.

There were a couple of threads down the main page on the Workhorse Chassis Owners Forum recently where a couple of members asked about adding air bags or some sort of air lift to increase ride height to prevent rear dragging. I don't know if anyone followed through on that or not,but I think air bags on a newer gasser would be very unusual.

I think it is more likely someone at the dealership who wrote up the work order for the previous owner may have assumed the motorhome was a diesel, which usually do have air bags.
