Air horn solenoid valve

I replaced the soleniod valve on the air hors as it had apparently overheated. When I reattached the leads, no power. I checked the main fuse and it is good. Not sure if anyone has had this issue before. Is there possibly an in-line fuse or a relay with a fuse that I am not finding?

There could be other fuses in the system, air horns are usually custom installations. You'll need to check and see if 12v is going to the horn button on the dash. If so, then hold button down and check for 12 v at the solenoid. Also check ground wire connection.

One of the easier ways to set up air horns like these is to take the lead that would normally go to your regular horns and use it as the hot lead going to the solenoid. The other side of the solenoid would lead to ground to complete the circuit.

If yours has been wired this way, then yes, there is a relay. All the chassis manf's use a horn relay in the circuit. If you can't locate it easily (do you hear a click when the horn button is engaged?), just follow the hot lead backwards. Normally they're fairly close by, so you shouldn't have to follow it far?
