Airport parking

Hi all,
I have lurked for quite a while and have received lots of great advice through other RVers questions. Thanks, it's been greatly appreciated.

We got an Allegro Open Road, new to us, at the beginning of last winter. We are just getting used to it the last few months after the snow left.

Our plan is to take it out for an extended trip in the fall but will still need to travel for work. Does anyone out there do the same and if so, where do you park your rig when you are gone? I don't know if it's practical to use airport or off airport parking for an RV. I'm guessing it depends on the airport but thought maybe there is an experienced voice out there.

Thanks

We use our MH this way sort of. My wife travels with her job & uses the MH as her home away from home. She is usually set up in a campground or mobil home park on a monthly basis. Therefore the with the monthly rates usually being about the same as a 2 week rate, when she comes home the MH just stays in the park empty with things setup the best way we have found to use the least amount of propane or electricity. One thing about month long stays is about 1/2 of the parks charge you additional for the electricity you use & the mobil home parks usually charge for water also. We feel this is much easier than moving the rv even if she/we are gone for a week at a time from the MH.
For the question about parking at the airport. I work at Charlotte Douglas Int. Airport, there is a long term parking lot adjacent to the employee parking lot that I always see RV's & buses parked in. I am not sure how you find out about parking there or how much they charge. This parking lot is well lit & fenced in. I would not say it is fully secure, but there is enough traffic 24 hours a day that I have not heard of anyone having any problems in the employee or the long term lots. I have also seen RV's parked in the Saint Louis Airport lot.
I hope this answers your question. Personnally I think if I wasn't using the campground while away, I would look into the airport parking or a storage facility near the airport. They seem to have better security at the storage facitities, but you never know.

Thanks. I hadn't really thought about leaving it in a campground but that might be easier and cheaper than an airport lot in some cases.
