Such closures are usually very short term - they are usually quick to make temp repairs with fill and gravel. But expect delays and go very slow - the loose gravel really flies if you hit it at anything approaching highway speeds.

Hi All
We are sitting in Fort Nelson B.C. and have been for 2 days. We were on our way to Alaska but several major roads have washed out. Many campers are caught in between washouts {100+}there are no campsites available beyond Fort Nelson and it is filling up here. The heavy rains and unusually high snowfall ha washed out 5 of the main Highways. Some will be repaired in a few days but many will require longer to rebuild. If you are on your way up, it might be best to slow down and check the Yukon road reports. More rain is in the forecast. We have decided to turn back and head into the Okanagan instead.
