Thanks for the direction!

We just were wondering what you would do if you have adult beverages in your rig and your FTing and come across this. Wasn't sure if they lecture you upon check in etc.

We're AARP members and the likelihood of us getting rowdy is pretty low. Between hiking and kayaking we'll be too tired to go on a tear.

We will be discreet and we won't be imbibing until dusk so I'll not worry.

We are looking forward to the new experience at the National Park!

At our local Forest Preserve campground they are very strict about alcohol. The policy is aimed at keeping the wild and crazy partiers in check. When we stay there, I simply place my G&T in a covered, insulated mug and stay in our campsite. We don't get loud and obnoxious, or walk around with drinks in hand. I just like to enjoy an evening cocktail and listen to the birds and crickets.
Common sense is the rule of the day. Unless you're causing a problem, the rangers will leave you alone.

The lady at the desk that checks you in just told me to keep the drink in a coffee cup. They just don't want loud drunk people wondering around making trouble. Nice quiet parks are the result and cheap full hook up sites too. Love the COE parks.

Park employees/hosts definitely know what you're doing. If you use common sense they turn the other way.

This is not true. Many state and national parks allow alcohol. Having volunteered in them it helps to read the rules before you go.
Even Yellowstone allows it.

Use common sense. You don't walk down the campground road swinging your beer bottle!

Go to any fast food joint, and get a big drink in the plastic cup with a lid and straw. Dump that nastiness down the sink, throw in some ice and pour in the booze!

An empty Coke can will hold just about any thing you want to add or replace in it.

Its easy - No Alcohol. Probably don't want old drunks like me ruining it for their other guests.. :-)

If you drink, I'd say find somewhere else, OR, make sure you stay inside, or as other have recommended, hide it..

If course, as a recovering alcoholic of 38 years, Id say if someone needs to hide their drinking, Well,.. you know.... :-)

Yeti insulated cup. I always have my bourbon in mine, whether we are in an alcohol-allowed or an alcohol-not-allowed campsite. In the morning it contains coffee, in the afternoon it contains soda, in the evening it contains Woodford Reserve.....

Regards.

Chuck

I would not have a problem having a drink in my RV, but I wouldn't go walking around the campground with a beer.

When they say no alcohol, they don't mean that you can't possess or drink inside your coach. They mean that you can't be out in plain sight with alcohol. The intent is to prevent people from openly displaying their alcohol and being publicly intoxicated.

We sit outside every night at COE parks with our frosty adult beverages in our glasses and have never had a problem. Of course we are not being loud, obnoxious idiots either.

I’ve only had dealing with a host one time. My son and myself where camping in a COE park, three drunk grown men and wife’s park across the street with there coolers full of beer on there tailgate. Park host pulled up and did nothing, not giving all details but it could have got real ugly fast if they had cross street.

Park hosts are given direction not to enforce. They are told to report things to law enforcement or management so they can handle it.
