We found out about Allied Insurance through WIT and received an awesome quote from them. Does anyone know anything "bad" about them?

Thank you.

Hi Baroness and welcome to IRV2.

I haven't heard of Allied Insurance but hopefully someone else has and will see your message and respond.

Does Allied have insurance specifically for RVs? The mention boats, ATVs and even Segways, but I did not see an RV-specific policy on their website.

Allied is a subsidiary of Nationwide.

I have Allied for my toad thru Farm & City.

They cut my toad bill in half for better coverage than AARP/Hartford.

I don't know about Allied but there is another form in this same heading talking about insurance and Progressive seem to be the most popular and best price....it is worth reading.

We have Allied on the house and cars. Got rear-ended in my pickup and they took care of it without problems.
Don't know where you live asbaroness but Allied is not offered in Calif. yet. Another small item is that they do not cover Mexico. Although you need liability written by a Mexican company, the comp and colision are not offered by Allied, other than Baja. We have National Interstate and get Mexico for $5.00 a year.

We have Allied Insurance on the motor home, two SUV's, and the corvette. Our insurance agent is a good friend, however we've never had to use this insurance and get a better rate because we insure the house through the same agency. Good luck.

We have Allied on the RV, toad, and a umbrella policy as well. We got it through FCIA when the other big names I tried (Progressive, Geico, etc) wouldn't write a policy on our coach.

I have Allied / Nationwide and am not at all happy with my Premium Package. I filled claim for fire caused in engine and it was denied flat out. READ YOUR POLICY CAREFULLY. Does not cover repair to Mfg Defects or aging items. That is lawyer for if you have a problem with wiring we will say it is one or both of theses and you can go ahead and fix that 65 foot long harness and TO BAD TO SAD.
Also ALLIED NATIONWIDE does NOT cover damage caused by animals chewing on wires. This was a huge shock to me. Just imagine the cost of damage to RV sitting around and a mouse or chipmunk chewing on engine or other wires. Sorry no coverage. If they are cheaper maybe it is because they have less liabilty.
Agent in claim was the worst professional I ever dealt with period. No crap this guy was a piece of dog poop. He xalled me a liar, he talked down to me and he flaunted my loss. He also would not return my calls ans screened my calls.

Rv towing insurance only tows to Allied Nationwide nearest PREFERRED network. They are so afraid of Nationwide they do what they think Nationwide wants them to and will not talk to you as the customer. The whole big insurance thing really sucks for me on RV. By the way I do not file claims. I had no choice on this, I was traveling. Good luck getting your Trip Interuption (rider I added) understood. Nationwide would not even explain it to me. Why have it, same lawyer ease in wording. All sounds good until you have a claim.

We have had Allied for 5 years and are very happy with them. They are a subsidy of Nationwide and specialize in insuring RV's. Any time I have called, they are very helpful.

Read this very similar thread. Personally I will stay far away from Allied!

I've read that thread. Not good! Try Blue Sky, we went the progressive route for one year then with no claims and I mean zero they raised our rates and lowered our coverage. I have not had to use Blue Sky but there are no bad reviews that I found. Many on the forum use them so the exposure is high. Also, they ONLY cover RV's. IMO this is good!
