But seriously folks, just a thought, I went through a similar experience with another purchase, put the down payment, had the bank lined up, and was told it is on order. Wait, wait, wait, call, it's on order, back to wait, wait, call, it's on order. Had enough, called the factory, explained reason for call, just concerned because it is taking so long, they asked for my sales agreement copy, the phone number and person at the bank, and will call me back. In about two hours was called back and told that the dealership could not order unit because they are required to prepay before it is shipped to them. The dealer did not have enough funds to order the unit, but since they had talked to my bank and had a copy of the sales agreement they would ship the unit to the dealer. Two weeks later had my delivery and mine was the last thing that dealership ever sold, going out of business right after....

I'm not sure you will get anything out of Indiana right now. I heard last night from a road workers wife that there were 3 jack knifes on 41 south of Terre Haute and they were trying to get the road open. The snow is blowing out again and the windchill right now is 25 below zero.

My husbands plane was cancelled at Indianapolis and he is waiting to see if he can fly back to Houston Wednesday and on to Africa. Everything around is effectively closed down here and I think it may be worse up north from here.

Just not a good time to be traveling here. I hope to get out with the motorhome and head south in the next couple of weeks.

Its brutal here.

No coach yet and it isn't looking good. I give. When it gets here it gets here. Yes the excuse now is the weather. Went from "it should be here on the first" to "well it left the factory on Friday and is at the transport company waiting to be driven to Cali. Well, can't fight the weather and don't need it wrecked on icy roads. Just cancelled maiden voyage reservation # 2 and my daughter won't get to see it before she goes back to college. I really don't think there's any dishonesty, or games going on just feeling okie doked on when my coach will be here.

But soon she discovered what I REALLy meant by "in their face", and what it boils down to, is being the nicest "pest" in the world.

You stop in at the dealership, you sit on the sales guy, and talk about football, wives, beer, knives, hunting, what the heck ever! You slip in a couple of "well let's call the factory together"'s , "hey can i meet the manager of this fine place, I'd like to buy him a cup of coffee" (have starbucks gift card on hand), ask a TON of stupid questions, like what's that switch for? How I do i do this, and that, and this, and that... all the while the other sales guys are taking all of the leads from the floor.

Stop by the next day too, just "passin" by...

After a couple of days of that, they will pester the crud out of the manufacturer just to get you out of their hair! But they will have NOTHING bad to say about you. Also, ask for some freebies...

As far as I am concerned, they ARE accountable for what they tell people, and someone should occasionally hold their feet to a warm plate. But the first time you get "nasty" with em, they will do everything in their power to make life worse for you.
Glad to know that someone else gets it too.

I think you're doing the right thing to relax and try to be patient. We all know the exasperation and disappointment you are feeling, but once the coach finally arrives all of this will be forgotten. Hang in there!

Giant Jeff......Mike Thompson's is one of the most dishonest dealers in California and probably across the nation. You'll typically get a good price, but EVERYTHING you do with them should be in writing. When the RV finally comes in and you do your inspection, make sure EVERYTHING that needs fixing is put in writing with some sort of completion date.

Just out of curiosity.....did you trade something in and have they paid it off yet?

The weather is horrible here in Indiana. We just spent 6 hours trying to get to the airport from around the Terre Haute area. We spent so many
hours waiting for a jackknifed semi to be moved on I 70 east hubby missed his plane. Monday they changed it and he couldn't get out, now it will be next Monday.

We finally got moving and it was solid ice, the state trooper told us try state highway 40 to get back to Terre Haute, it was snow covered and slow
but not ice, so we turned at exit 23, we were only about 15 miles east of Terre Haute.

I have never seen anything like the semis piled into the Pilot truck stop. They were lined up all the exit ramps, solid at the truck stop, and roads around it. We spent 6 hours and didn't go very far. We encountered more wrecks on the way home and there were cars, trucks, and semis in ditches.
It is very bad here. I would not want them trying to haul an RV here now and we did not see 1 motorhome or 1 TT on the road. My husband had the back of our truck weighted down with tools, chains, and other items for weight to give us traction.

In the town we live in south of Terre Haute we asked about mail, she said the post office hadn't received any for 2 days. Hopefully it gets better this weekend. I can tell you the weather is certainly a legitimate excuse from here at least right now.

At the very least, you might want to consider telling the RV dealer you want NO stickers, no license plate holders ... nothing on the RV that would promote their business. And tell them it's a deal-breaker of they're on there. I had a not-entirely-pleasant buying experience, and even told them "No Dealer Stickers!" (alas, to no avail -- and they put TWO of them on!!!). Come spring, I'm heating up the hair dryer and pulling them off the coach.

I don't know why Diplomat Don is sugar coating Mike Thompson's RV ! Just keep that in mind with any of your dealings with them. Read and re read all the fine print and get EVERYTHING in writing so it can be used in court !
