Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there are any former Angel Bus Drivers on the forum. Angel bus has been taken over by Mercy Medical Airlift who also runs Angel Flight. They are recruiting motorhome owners and drivers and would like to hear from former members.

There was an article in FMCA April issue for those not familiar with the service (Link): From Home To Hope We were successful in forming a Friends of Angel Bus FMCA chapter at last months convention and have since signed up over 30 motorhome owners.

Take a minute and check out this rewarding organization. You do not have to be an FMCA member to sign up.The Angel Bus website is : http://www.angel-bus.org

If you have any questions feel free to ask away.

Thanks,
Paul

Paul,
Your Angel Bus Website (http://www.angel-bus.0rg/) does not appear to be working. I read the article in Family Motor Coaching and would like more info.

I was attempting to volunteer as a driver, but checked with my insurance to make sure there would be no problem...Progressive Insurance. Unfortunately there response was that my coverage would not be in effect even with waivers signed.
I sent an email to Angel and asked them to lobby in my behalf to Progressive. I will write a letter this week to corporate and ask them to review this policy.
Check with your carrier.

Before I got involved wit Angel Bus one of my main concerns was the insurance liability.. Since my motor home is also insured thru Progressive under a basic no frills policy, I contacted my Agent to see if there was a problem. I was assured I would have no problems, nor would require any additional riders on my policy.

On reading your post, I became concerned and made an appointment to see my Progressive Insurance agent this afternoon. After a little over an hour with my agent and Progressive corporate office I was informed that I have full coverage as an Angel Bus driver under my current policy because we “do not accept any money or goods for the service”

If you would be kind enough to PM me the person you spoke to at Progressive Corporate office, I will take it to my agent and hopefully resolve this matter. I thought this may have varied from state to state but it doesn’t seem to be an issue as far as Progressive is concerned. This is the first time I have heard of this issue and would like to have it resolved.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Skigramp'

The original Angel Bus was founded by a conversion bus enthusiast Bill Conner.

We are fulfulling his dream and Angel Bus is open to all types of RV's including A's, B's, C's Toy haulers and vans. Anything more comfortable than riding in a car.

Thanks'

Paul

I have sent you a PM with the name, phone number, and ext of the person who states that this is "unacceptable Use" per the Progressive policy. Hopefully your agent and corporate can clear up this issue.
Keep me informed via PM or this thread.
