Another amazing customer service post.

In late June of 2018, my Jayco Jay Flight 23RB developed a leaking faucet in the bathroom. I was just over a year into the 2 year warranty on my trailer. We bought the trailer in North Carolina, but we were on the western side of one of the mountain ranges of the Rockies.

We were heading from Arco, ID and the Craters of the Moon National Monument and heading for Grand Teton NP. Our trip was taking us through Idaho Falls, ID. My wife found an authorized Jayco dealer there, Bish's RV Supercenter. She called to see if they could look at our trailer when we passed through Idaho Falls. During her first call, Bish's said they were just too full of work to be able to do it that day. Subsequently, I realized I was going to be in GTNP a day sooner than my reservations up at Colter Bay, so she called again to ask if they do it the next morning. I had a day I could use to stay in Idaho Falls.

During her return phone call, Bish's told her they would be able to work us in after all. They gave us directions to their dealership, and off we went.

We got there, and a tech was assigned to determine the problem. Of course the first thing he tried was tightening up the fittings. That made the leak worse. At that point he removed the offending faucet, and then determined 1) the threads on the faucet had been stripped at the factory and 2) the cone washers had been put in crooked and had been deformed.

So, the dealership pulled a bathroom faucet from their retail store and replaced the old one. It hasn't leaked since the fix.

IMO, what Bish's did was superb customer service for someone who definitely didn't buy their Jayco from them, but was just passing through town. I lost only about 2.5 hours out of my travel day.

If I lived in that part of the country, and was in need of another RV, that's be the first place I go.

It was a treat to read about your positive experience at Bish's. I remember passing the dealership when we drove through Idaho Falls a couple of years ago. In today's society, it seems to me that too many businesses focus on how much money they can squeeze out of customers and completely ignore the concept of providing excellent service. Those, like Bish's, that focus on their relationships with customers and actually meeting their needs should be applauded.

We had a similar experience with Osburn GMC in Dubois, Pennsylvania, a couple of years ago. We were towing our travel trailer through Pennsylvania when our truck broke down. The friendly, professional folks in the service department there juggled their schedule to fit us in almost immediately and patched us up so that we could get the truck (and ourselves) home safely. We will never forget their kindness.

Another time, a wheel bearing went on our travel trailer while traveling on I-94 in Wisconsin. A truck from Jerry's Truck & Trailer Repair in Roberts, Wisconsin, responded to the call from Coach-Net. That was at 3:00pm on a hot summer afternoon. The super helpful staff at Jerry's allowed us to camp on their lot overnight, had us in the shop by 6:30 the next morning and on our way later that day. The crew at Jerry's did everything in their power to get us back on the road quickly, and losing only one day was a blessing.

There are some excellent businesses and some really good people out there who deserve recognition, and it's always heartwarming to hear about them!

Safe travels,

Mary
