Let me ask a question... This Spring we attended a gathering in Louisiana. As part of the "activities" there was going to be an "emergency evacuation" demonstration showing how to evacuate your RV in the event of a fire using one of the RVs "emergency" evacuation windows. As the demonstration progressed, the demonstrators went to open the "emergency evacuation" window... IT WOULD NOT OPEN... It was "frozen" in the closed position!! How many of you have checked your emergency exits to confirm they are operational?? And assuming the exit IS operational, how are you going to "dive" out the small exit without disemboweling yourselves on the window latches... (throw a blanket over the window sill before diving out). Something to seriously think about...

My emergency exit normally ends up right over the utility connections. I hate to think what would happen if we had to use it and landed on top of the electric box, water hookup. etc.

Don't you know by now that EVERY RV fire is caused by the reefer regardless of where it actually starts?

Hard to tell from the photo in the paper but it appears that this was a mid entry coach. If that is the case the fire would be by the door or the "front" of the coach.

I expect more fires are caused by faulty fridges than any other single cause.

Sure not much structural metal in the sides and roof. No slides, must be an older MH.

Absolutely know your escape route, and that your emergency exit point is operational!

Think about how your going to exit that window !

Another good reason to stay healthy, and in good physical shape if possible!

I wonder if he had time to get his things from his safe. That's one thing I think about when folks wonder where they can hide their valuables. Will you really have time to get to them?

If I was gonna have a safe in an RV, it would be fireproof!
