Our 06 Adventurer has a short queen...even with a slide out.
Next RV will have a KING.

My 2005 INtruder has a "RV-Queen" (Small queen) but my 6'6.5" Brother did NOT band his head on the ceiling, Door headers yes, but not the ceiling, I'm 6'3" myself.
And there are only 2 doors inside this place. The bath, and the half bath.

I was in your exact situation a bit over five years ago. I'm 6'6''. We had never owned an RV and when we began looking at pre-2007 coaches (gas and diesel) the low ceiling heights really bothered me.
Hopefully you'll get some good leads on what you're looking for because it ended up costing me a lot of money. I bought a new DP with 7' ceilings. But, we do have a standard queen bed, which I can live with.
Best of luck.
Rick

My 2000 Monaco La Palma has 77 inches with a few lower projections such as lights and one door jam.

I'm 6'1" and the bunks are too short for me but I fixed it with an extension still have nights when it is not all that comfortable. And forget about taking a nap on couch :(
I have hit my head several times coming into or out of the coach :/
I haven't drawn blood yet, but come close, sometimes I get to exercise some of that good ol' Army lingo I learned years ago.

You do need to check the Alfa. They are orphans but aren't they all as the warranty runs out.... Don't think they have 8' interiors but near it. They're advertised as the most head room and any 38+ foot diesel has at least a FULL sized queen bed...

Alpha was the first with high ceilings but others soon followed. Newmar's first was the Northern Star I think that was around '05-'06. Monaco was in the same time frame.
